What is Fibromyalgia?
According to Mayo Clinic, fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain accompanied by fatigue, sleep, memory and mood issues.
Symptoms
The symptoms of fibromyalgia vary from person-to-person, but generally manifest as:
- Widespread pain
- Fatigue
- Cognitive difficulties, often referred to as "fibro fog"
If you are familiar with the symptoms of UARS, then you already know the symptoms of these two disorders have much overlap.
Typical Treatment Options
Unfortunately, fibromyalgia doesn't have an exact "cure".
There are many treatments that can help ease up the symptoms, but these are far from a cure.
Medications for Fibromyalgia
- Pain relievers (Tylenol, Advil, Tramadol)
- Antidepressants such as Cymbalta and Savella
- Anti-seizure drugs such as Gabapentin and Lyrica
On the bright side
If you are suffering from fibromyalgia symptoms, there is still hope to get rid of your symptoms for good.
If you are suffering from a sleep-breathing disorder, UARS in particular, it can manifest as fibromyalgia-like symptoms.
